Busy Huddersfield Giants have secured the registration of winger Gene Ormsby from the Warrington Wolves for the rest of the 2016 season.

The 23-year-old had already agreed to join the Giants in 2017 following a successful loan spell earlier in the season, with the move brought forward after talks between the two clubs.

The news was confirmed by Giants managing director Richard Thewlis who said: “Rick Stone was aware whilst Down Under awaiting his visa of all squad issues from the moment he accepted the position of head coach here and he was delighted to be told when he got here that he would be joined at training by Gene.

“The move for next year and beyond had been agreed some months back and we thank the Warrington club for allowing it to be brought forward and, therefore, strengthen the options Rick has in the outside backs.”

Added Ormsby: “It’s exciting to be back,

“I really enjoyed my time here when I was on loan, so it is great to be back here with the boys.

“The opportunity presented itself to come here and I wanted to get game time, so it’ good for my career to be here, and the chance to work for Rick Stone is something I am looking forward to.

“He’s got some good structures in place and I think my career will develop under him.”
