TALENTED scrum half Paul White will finally make his Giants Super League debut.

The 20-year-old star of the Senior Academy has been named on the bench for tomorrow's daunting trip to face leaders Bradford at Odsal (6.00).

That will please many fans, who have been calling for White to be handed his chance for months.

But head coach Tony Smith has resisted the temptation to pick White until now.

"It was always the intention to give him a Super League run at some stage," said Smith, who could also hand debuts to forwards Chris Plume and former Bull Craig McDowell.

"At the start of the year it was clear we had to work on Paul's game and body before throwing him in, and we've now reached that stage."

In an ideal world, White's debut would have come against a `lesser' club than the Bulls, but knocks to senior players have forced the issue with Marcus St Hilaire (ribs), Jamie Bloem (groin) and Eorl Crabtree (thumb) already ruled out.
