The Giants have kept faith with the same 19-man squad that were involved in the 19-0 opening home Super League XX defeat against Hull for Friday’s trip to Wigan.

But head coach Paul Anderson has admitted there will be changes to the line-up.

At this stage, the John Smith’s Stadium chief is keeping those changes close to his chest, although he has confirmed the option of including fit-again trio Scott Grix, Michael Lawrence and Kyle Wood in the 19 was never really a considered option.

All three made their return from major surgery playing for dual-registration club Oldham in last weekend’s 11-10 trial defeat at fellow Championship club Leigh, with Anderson erring on the side of caution.

“Because of the nature of their operations, we’ve not put them in at this stage,” he said.

“But Bruno (wrist surgery) was very, very good, Woody (knee) looked sharp and Grixy (shoulder) was okay.”
