HUDDERSFIELD Giants were today expected to complete the signing of winger Lee Greenwood and include him in tomorrow's squad to face Hull FC at the KC Stadium (6.05).

The 24-year-old England ace is ready to move to the Galpharm for the rest of the season after agreeing a release from London Broncos.

Greenwood scored 17 tries in 26 games for the Broncos last season and maintained that excellent tryscoring form at the start of Super League X, with six tries in London's opening nine games.

But that failed to keep him in the first-team frame and he has not seen Super League action for 12 weeks.

However, London's loss should be the Giants' gain, with Greenwood's arrival coming at the perfect time as first-choice backs Paul Reilly (suspension) and Michael De Vere (hand) are ruled out.

And Giants head coach Jon Sharp is confident his latest arrival will prove a very useful addition to the squad.

"I'm delighted we are in the position to bring Lee into our squad," said Sharp.

"He is a proven finisher who has impressed at club and representative level, and his signing will be a big boost at the business end of the season."

The former Halifax flier was expected to complete the signing formalities this lunchtime after meeting his new teammates at training for the first time yesterday.

He is no stranger to many of the Huddersfield players, having been in England's 2004 European Nations Cup squad with Reilly, Eorl Crabtree and Stuart Jones.

Unfortunately, two of those three men will not be joining Greenwood on the KC Stadium pitch tomorrow.

Back-rower Jones has again failed to recover from the ankle injury he suffered in the 40-22 home triumph over Wakefield a month ago and will miss his third top-flight clash.

Jones continues to be joined on the sidelines by Stanley Gene, who is two weeks away from a return following minor knee surgery, and Ben Roarty, who is ruled out for the foreseeable future following neck surgery.
