DANNY KIRMOND is desperate to figure for the Giants at Murrayfield this weekend.

But the back-rower is even more desperate to see his side bounce back from two demoralising Super League defeats.

Huddersfield head to Scotland to face struggling Celtic Crusaders on Sunday as part of Super League’s Magic Weekend.

With the side from South Wales having lost their opening 10 fixtures, the Giants appear to have been handed the ideal opportunity to erase the memory of two lack-lustre displays against Leeds and Warrington.

Those losses have seen the Giants slip to fourth in the Super League XIV ladder.

And 23-year-old back-rower Kirmond, who has started in three of his side’s last four games – including the 30-10 home win over the Crusaders on Good Friday – is hoping to get the chance to help his side back on track.

“This game at Murrayfield is one I think everyone is looking forward to,” said Kirmond.

“I know I definitely am. I just missed out last year on playing in the Magic Weekend at Cardiff, which was disappointing, so I obviously don’t want to miss out again this time around.

“There’s no doubt Sunday is going to be a very big occasion – Murrayfield is a fantastic venue – but the biggest thing for us this weekend is getting back to winning ways. That’s far more important than where this game’s being played.”
