JON SHARP has added two of the Giants' outstanding rising stars to his squad for Super League X.
Seventeen-year-old stand-off Thomas Hemingway and 18-year-old prop forward Jason Southwell have today signed one-year full-time contracts for next season.
It means they will become the youngest members of Sharp's senior squad.
But he believes the talented duo are ready to take the next step up the rugby league ladder.
"They are both way ahead of their age group and ready to test themselves out in the full-time environment ," said Sharp.
"They have the potential to have very bright futures in the game, and this will be their chance to fulfil that potential.
"In the case of Thomas, he already receives massive raps from the national coaches at his age group and has always been one of the elite players at his level.
"The next step is to progress him quickly and see just what he is capable of doing.
"I've no doubt working with the likes of senior half-backs Costin, Gene and March will be of massive benefit to him.
"And I know Jason will relish the chance to learn off our experienced forwards.
"He really is a big, strong thing and has very good leg drive.
"Front-rowers like Jason are a rarity these days, and we're all looking forward to seeing just how far he can go in the game."
