THE Giants are now battling for their Super League places.

Head coach Jon Sharp has made it clear that those who produce the goods against Wigan at the JJB Stadium tonight (7.45) will line up at Leeds Rhinos for the Super League opener on Sunday week.

Six senior players sit this one out, suggesting they are already pencilled in for Headingley - Robbie Paul, Michael De Vere, Brad Drew, Paul Jackson, Stuart Jones and Paul Smith.

So it's make or break for those facing the Warriors in Kris Radlinski's testimonial match.

"This is a big game for all those who play tonight," confirmed Sharp. "We've produced some quality work at times in our first two pre-season games, and I want to see a further improvement.

"Everyone is playing for a place against Leeds.

"Tonight is the final chance for people to prove to me they should be included. No-one can afford to take a place in the starting line-up for granted. A place in the 17 has to be earned at this club."

Fit-again Paul Reilly plays and there are recalls for former Wigan man Stephen Wild, Eorl Crabtree and James Evans.

Martin Aspinwall also plays against his old club.

"Martin and Stephen are both very excited," added Sharp.

"They both had great careers with Wigan Warriors."
