HUDDERSFIELD are setting their stall out with a view to seriously chasing some silverware this season, in the form of ‘T’Owd Tin Pot,’ when they entertain Old Brodleians in a quarter-final tie at Lockwood Park tonight (7.30).

Very often, sides have seen the Yorkshire Cup as something of an unnecessary distraction, and have frequently put out under-strength teams, usually a combination of first and second team squads with a smattering of Colts thrown in for good measure.

However, with Huddersfield being relatively safe in the League this season, they are committing their full resources to the Cup campaign and team manager Nick Bone is sending out their regular first team tonight with a view to sealing a semi-final slot.

The only real alteration from the side that took a point from Westoe last week, sees Adam Lancaster start at hooker with Ben Morrill on the bench.

Another interesting ploy will see Gavin Rhodes swapping positions with George Hinchliff and having a rare run-out at flanker, which apparently, was his preferred position when he arrived at the club last season.

Not only are Huddersfield putting out a strong side they also have a strong bench with winger Adam Sutcliffe, regular first choice hooker Morrill and prop James Davies among the seven-strong substitutes.

Calderdale rivals Old Brodleians have enjoyed a useful season in North I East, where they have risen to sixth place on the back of some good victories, but may find the step up in class will not be quite as comfortable as what they have been used to this season.

The incentive for the winners is a semi-final home tie against National I side Wharfedale, who may well have a greater focus on retaining their National League status rather than chasing Cup glory.
