IT’S BACK to League business for the YMCA side tomorrow when they make the short journey down the Ainleys to West Vale to tackle Heath (2.15).
And although the North Dean club struggled in the early part of the season, they have recently put a decent run together and moved up the Yorkshire I table.
“It’s a local derby and they are always difficult, no matter what the corresponding league positions are,” admitted YM coach Jody Shaw.
“Heath is never an easy place to go, and the fact they have currently hit some form will make it doubly difficult.
“However, our pack were outstanding last week against a huge set of forwards from Ilkley, and they must front-up again tomorrow, and give our backs the space to do what they do best.
“It’s vitally important we get back on the winning trail in the League as soon as possible. After tomorrow at Heath we just have one more game left before the end of the year (the following week at home to Knottingley), and we want to go into the Christmas break with two more wins under our belt.”
YM have gone for minimal disruption and selected the same side which defeated Ilkley 22-12 in last Saturday’s Yorkshire Shield second round tie, with the exception of Damian Clayton, who returns at fly-half for the Heath clash, which sees the rest of the back division move out one spot.
Ed Barber goes back to inside centre with Adam Ryder to outside and Lloyd Bentley onto the wing opposite Gavin Stead.
