Heath welcomed unbeaten Scarborough to North Dean and found the going tough losing the Yorkshire I clash 18-11.

Changes to the home team resulted from the late withdrawal of Rob Thackeray and Stephen Hare.

Mick Gleeson started at fullback, Lewis McKenzie on the wing, Matt Hallett centre and Josh Lister on the other flank, while the pack welcomed the return of Chris Moore and Koffi Brobbey.

It was Scarborough who got into their stride first and on four minutes Tom Ratcliffe went over in the left-hand corner and then converted his try and Heath needed to respond quickly.

Good work from Gleeson, Ezra Hinchliffe, Mark Puttick, Darren Neilly and Ian Downsborough saw the home side apply pressure and a penalty award meant Hinchliffe oblige with three points.

On 14 minutes Heath took the lead with Brobbey making a great run before full-back Tom Harrison stopped him in his tracks.

Downsborough charged down an attempted clearance to release Hallett, and the ball was handled by Hinchliffe, Miller and eventually Lister who scored in the corner.

The conversion was missed but Heath were in front and looking good, but when Scarborough’s centre Jan Tieber broke free he was able to pass to wing Ratcliffe who romped over after 22 minutes.

The conversion attempt failed but Scarborough had reclaimed the lead and Heath slipped further behind conceding two penalties before half-time to turn round trailing 18-8.

In the second half a penalty from Hinchliffe reduced the deficit but all Heath could manage was a losing bonus point from a hard-fought game.
