NICK SHARPE and his Huddersfield team go points-hunting in Herefordshire tomorrow when they face the long trek to Luctonians (3.00) for their penultimate game of 2012.

Coach Dan Hyde has been forced into a number of changes with both props Tony Stringwell and Lawrence Sanderson unavailable, and therefore has brought in Ben Bell to partner Alex Battye, with second teamer George Shield as the replacement front-rower on the bench.

And with both Chris Duffy and Scott Benton ruled out at half-back, Jon Coles gets another chance to start at fly-half with Joel Hinchliffe reverting to his more familiar role at No9.

The other big change in the back division, allows new signing Rob Meakins a starting spot in the centres, alongside Mike Clark.

“Although it was very disappointing to lose to Bromsgrove last week, it was another sign that we are starting to improve,” said skipper Sharpe.

“In the last few games, we have only just been losing, instead of going down by 20 points or more, so I really feel we have come a long way.

“The aim now is to keep getting better, and hopefully we can start turning narrow defeats into victories.

“We’ve not yet lost at Luctonians, so we are hoping we can keep up that particular statistic.”
