Tom Hodson is back for Huddersfield RU.

The talented winger has spent the summer on rugby league duty with Championship club Doncaster Dragons, but is back in the starting line-up for today’s home National II North clash against in-form Sandal at Lockwood Park (3.00).

Hodson’s return couldn’t have come at a better time, with head coach Gareth Lewis’s men looking to end a run of three straight defeats.

Huddersfield also hand a debut to fellow winger Tom Kanouras following his arrival from Bradford and Bingley, while Sale Sharks dual-registration back-row forward Liam Parfitt will make his first start after impressing off the bench in his first Huddersfield game.

There’s also a return for prop Adam Tamanis after starring for the Falcons, coming in to replace the suspended James Purcell, and hooker Ross Thornton is back after injury.

“Tom’s return has come at just the right time for us,” said Lewis.

“It’s just the sort of boost we need heading into this derby clash against Sandal.

“And we’re looking forward to seeing Liam build on the start he’s made with us. His outstanding work rate and ability on the floor have already stood out.

“They could both make the difference this weekend.”
