Rising Huddersfield RUFC star fly-half Chris Bell has been selected for the North of England team.

The 19-year-old will be aiming to impress the England Counties Under 20 selectors at the Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College in Leicestershire over the Easter weekend.

Players from London &SE, Midlands, North and South West will be involved in a three-day National Under 20 Counties Development and Selection Weekend from April 3 to 5.

The weekend forms the final stage in the process for the selection of the England Counties Under 20s squad which will be chosen to tour Georgia later this year.

In addition, Bell is fighting to be fit for the County under 20s side for their semi-final against Cornwall to be played at Camborne on March 27. He’s been out of action since injuring his shoulder in Huddersfield’s National II North clash against Hull in January.

The former Rishworth Grammar School student has been an excellent addition to the squad since making his debut against Leicester Lions at the start of the season.
