Upbeat Mark Whitehead is hoping fielding the same line-up will bring the same result for Huddersfield YMCA.

The men from Laund Hill secured their first National III North win of 2015 with last weekend’s convincing 32-10 home triumph over Rossendale.

That ended a four-match losing run and eased some of their worries at the prospect of being dragged into a potential relegation scrap.

And player-coach Whitehead knows a home win over derby rivals Morley tomorrow (3.00) will help the YM spend the rest of their time looking up rather than down.

“That win over Rossendale was massive,” said Whitehead.

“It’s obviously given us a massive boost in confidence, particularly given the manner in which we achieved it.

“Rossendale’s strengths lie in their forwards, but we destroyed them in the pack, which is a real credit to our boys.

“Hopefully, it’ll be a similar story this weekend.

“For the first time this season, we’re in a position to name the same starting line-up and the same three subs, and everyone’s confident we can do the same sort of job on Morley as we did on Rossendale.

“This is another massive game for us, because Morley are third bottom in the table and we’re fifth bottom, and if we can get the win then we’ll put some serious breathing space between us and the teams below us. That would mean our main focus can be about finishing in the top half of the table.”

Teenage full-back Sam Fletcher keeps his place in the side, despite the availability of Lloyd Bentley.

Winger Bentley was a last-minute withdrawal a week ago through illness and is fit to resume, but still misses out.

“Sam’s got a big future in the game and it wouldn’t be fair to leave him out,” added Whitehead.

“He only found out he’d be playing last week on the morning of the game, but he came up with a very strong display and he’s kept Lloyd out on merit.”
