Huddersfield YMCA Colts put their fantastic unbeaten record to the test tomorrow.

The Laund Hill Under 17s, with a new team this season and who need just one more win to secure the Yorkshire RU League IV West title, tackle Stoke RFC in the second round of the National Shield competition.

It will be a tough task against one of the North West League III’s top sides, but YM are taking big support to cheer them on.

A win would give YM a home tie against either the Thirsk/Ripon Exiles or Bolton in the Northern Area final on April 3.

YM have already beaten Thirsk/Ripon to reach the semi-finals of the Under 17 Yorkshire Cup – a tremendous achievement for a side at their level.

Thirsk/Ripon were previously unbeaten, but YM triumphed 36-19 with two late tries sealing victory.

Further into next month, YM will play at both Cleckheaton and Pontefract in their final two league games, with victory in either ensuring the title.

The Colts, of course, have already set the target of finishing the entire league season unbeaten.
