IT’S groundhog day for Huddersfield Hockey Club 1st XI as they face league leaders Brigg (Scunthorpe) for the second time in two weeks.
This time it’s at Lockwood Park (1.30) and, after last week’s defeat, this has become a must-win game.
Huddersfield are third in the Yorkshire Premier League, with two games in hand on the league leaders, but a defeat would surely mean too large a deficit to catch up with only six games to go after this weekend.
Forward Steve Durrans is unavailable and is the only member of the squad unavailable, with Mike Peachey returning from a spell out with a back injury.
The 2nd XI are away to Chapletown 2nd XI also in a reverse of last week’s fixture against the league leaders, and a win would keep them in with a chance of the second promotion spot.
The 3rd XI, with four wins and two draws from the last six games, are at home to Gainsborough Roses 2nd XI, and the 5th XI are at home to Bradford 3rd XI.
