He's back – and already keeping us entertained.

I had to smile as Jose Mourinho’s opening gambit as he previewed his first Premier League game back at Chelsea, yesterday’s clash with Hull.

“'If (Premier League chief) Richard Scudamore says I have stardust, he’s the boss and I have to say he’s right,” said the Portuguese.

People who know me will know that I’m a big admirer of Manchester United.

But my money is on Chelsea winning the title, thanks to Mourinho’s knowledge of both the club and the league, and the players he has at his disposal.

Juan Mata oozes class, Eden Hazard will have developed even more, and there is the experience and quality of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole to call on.

It could even be that Jose can add Wayne Rooney to his squad, and I think the ongoing debate over the frontman’s future was behind David Moyes’ decision to question Premier League chiefs over a fixture list which pits the reigning champions against Chelsea at Old Trafford a week today, then Liverpool and Manchester City in September.

Moyes (pictured) surely wanted to shift the attention from Rooney during the build-up to the opener down at Swansea.

Being manager of Manchester United at this moment is both the best job and the worst job.

Any boss worth his salt would want to lead such a huge and successful club, but being the one to follow Sir Alex Ferguson is tough indeed.

It’s going to be a very interesting season over at Old Trafford.
