I'd like to take this opportunity to urge fans, if they haven’t already done so, to buy season cards for 2015-16.

Planning for the next campaign is well under way, and the funds you provide are vital to the club’s playing budget.

I know around 20% of it comes from season cards, so the more that are bought, the more funds Chris Powell will have.

The manager already has targets, and with the help of some new faces, I am sure the existing players can push us on.

Fans have until a week on Wednesday, April 8, to take advantage of the interest-free instalments offer.

That means the cost of a season card can be spread over 10 payments.

Like I say, buying a season card really does make a difference.

Of course, there are still seven games of this campaign to go.

I know recent results aren’t what anyone would have wanted.

And in several cases, they have been undeserved.

But there’s no use complaining, it’s all about putting things right.

We go to my other old club Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Our recent games at Hillsborough have been action-packed, and we have a good record there.

Remember last season’s 2-1 victory, when Martin Paterson and Adam Clayton scored in front of the Sky Sports cameras?

The season before that, Ollie Norwood, Lee Novak and Adam Clayton earned a 3-1 win.

And who can forget the topsy-turvy League I clash of 2011-12, when Jordan Rhodes got all our goals in a 4-4 draw?

I know the lads will be going all out to keep that bright record going.

And a win would set us up nicely for the visit of Ipswich Town on Easter Monday.

Mick McCarthy’s men are pushing for the play-offs, so another good game is in prospect.

Honours were even at Portman Road back in October, when Nahki Wells notched twice as we came from behind for a draw.

One of those strikes was a penalty, and after his two misses from the spot against Fulham, it was great to see him convert one for Bermuda during his next game.

The Fulham match was freakish in a lot of ways, and you certainly wouldn’t have expected Nahki to be unsuccessful with both his penalties.

I’d love to see him get the goal which defeated Wednesday!

I would just like to remind all Junior football clubs there are still a couple of weeks to enter the PPG Cup.

It’s a fantastic two days of competition for youngsters and, last year, it was a magnificent success.

The PPG Cup presents young players with the chance to play at PPG Canalside, our training ground where the likes of Town stars James Vaughan (inset) and Nahki Wells work on a daily basis.

This year’s matches will take place on Saturday May 9 and Sunday May 10 – effectively two one-day events but under the same PPG Cup umbrella.

We are hoping it’s just as successful as last year, when we had over 800 youngsters involved from a total of 107 team.

Everyone enjoyed themselves from players to spectators, because there are also lots of events for the whole family, stalls, inflatables and lots of Huddersfield Town orientated activities.

The Cup is aimed at junior clubs with age groups from Under 7 to Under 14 and we hope as many as possible will enter.

That’s easy to do as entry forms are available by calling 01484 537720, or alternatively you can email info@canalsidesports.com

Personally, I think it’s a great event for young players to be involved in, it’s run in a professional way and in a professional environment but it’s also lots of fun and very enjoyable.

It’s also a chance for youngsters to make an impression as our scouts will be keeping an eye on the matches, so maybe we will come across the next James Vaughan or Nahki Wells.

Let’s hope so, but the most important thing is not to miss out on taking part, so get those entries in as soon as possible.
