AS most fans will know we are going Tower to Tower in our Pedal for Pounds bike ride.
The plan is to ride to and from our final match of the Championship season at Blackpool to raise money for the Keep It Up Campaign.
And if anyone would like to join us I would strongly recommend they do – because it’s a fantastic project to be involved in and raises money for a very valuable cause.
All you need to do is raise a minimum of £250 and you can take part – with all the cash raised going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the club’s Academy.
The fundraising is obviously very important, but I just think Pedal for Pounds is a brilliant event to take part in and anyone can do it.
If you can ride a bike, then you are capable of taking part and completing the journey.
And we are hoping this time it will be more accessible to more people, because it’s not taking up a big part of the working week.
With it being Blackpool and back, it involves only an overnight stay, so hopefully it gives an opportunity to those who have previously missed out through work or family commitments.
Anyone who fancies having a go should contact Robyn Deegan at the club and she will provide you with all the details. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org
Like I say, I’ve been involved in all five so far and they’ve been fantastic.
It’s a challenge, sure, but the camaraderie between all the riders helps to pull you through and the team spirit is just incredible.
We’ve had around 300 taking part in the past, but the more we can get the more money we can raise – and it was great to recently be able to announce that we’d raised over £1m for Keep It Up.
