Whatever you think about Leeds United president Massimo Cellino, you have to admire his ability to operate in a unique manner that has got everyone in football guessing.

Usually you can expect the same old round of suspects to be trotted out by the bookmakers whenever a manager goes – and Town fans will have probably had enough of it by now given that it was way back on August 10 that Mark Robins left the John Smith’s Stadium.

However, even the bookies know that when it comes to Cellino the list of usual suspects might as well be thrown out of the window.

The 58-year-old Italian has told the Leeds fans not to expect a “big name” replacement for sacked head coach David Hockaday, the former Forest Green boss.

So given Cellino’s seeming taste for non-League managers from a point somewhere south of Birmingham, I will make my left-field suggestion.

Gary Whild, whose name takes up a mere nine letters so can no way be construed as big, who is currently in charge at Conference side Kidderminster Harriers.

It would be a suitable Whild choice!
