St Joseph's Under 12 side produced a dominant performance to beat local rivals Newsome Panthers 44-8 at Fartown.

From the start Joe’s dominated the possession and territory with strong runs from AJ Wallace, Harvey Jubb, Joe Morrison and Fred Woodhouse causing the visitors problems out wide.

This led to Woodhouse scoring two tries with Ethan Myers and Kia McDonald chipping in one try each to leave the half-time score at 22–4 to the home side.

In the second half, Joe’s carried on where they had left off displaying good expansive rugby.

Morrison completed a second half hat trick and McDonald added his second try.

Good distribution from Danny Fisher, Will Greenan and Matthew Dickinson led to a comfortable victory.

Opposition man of match was won by Wallace, man of match went to Dickinson, man of steel was Woodhouse and the magic moment award went to Kieran Dean.

The girl’s rugby league season is set to start in the next few weeks and St Joseph’s are looking for new players at Under 17, Under 15 and Under 13 age groups.

Girls training will be held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30pm at the Fartown rugby ground. Those interested can get more information on the club’s website www.stjosephsarlfc.co.uk for more details and players of all experience will be welcome.
