St Joseph’s Sharks’ Under 12 side served up a convincing 32-10 victory over Hunslet Parkside.

It was ideal conditions at Fartown, Joes were straight out of the blocks with impressive drives from Ethan Myers, AJ Wallace and George Wightman.

This was all to the benefit of Fred Woodhouse. who, with passes supplied by Matthew Dickinson, Will Greenan and Danny Fisher, completed a hat trick as the home side raced into an 18-point lead.

Hunslet hit back to cause problems for the Sharks defence.

Joe Morrison and Harvey Turner had to tackle well to prevent a Hunslet break player reaching the tryline.

The Hunslet forwards made St Joseph’s work hard with wingers Levell Lewis and Kieran Dean tucking in to assist their teammates with defensive duties.

Just before half-time Hunslet got the breakthrough they had been threatening with a try and at the break St Josephs lead 18-4.

The start of the second half mirrored the first, a scoot from Jacob Bentley through the middle saw him gain 20 metres before a looping pass to Morrison split the Hunslet defence, the ball moved out to the wing through Reece Collier and Fisher, who then once again let Woodhouse loose to go on and score a fantastic team try.

Woodhouse got his fifth try after the ball was collected by Harvey Jubb who made ground into the opposition’s half and then Omar Simpson took players out of the game with a run down the middle.

The gap appeared and Woodhouse got through and have a clear run to touch down under the posts.

Hunslet had a period of pressure but thanks to Dan Carr, Matty Watmough and Tony Welsh this was kept to a minimum and only one try was conceded in the half.

To finish things off Kai McDonald with help from Jubb and Lewis scored the final try of the game.

The opposition’s man of the match was Danny Fisher, man of steel went to Will Greenan and man of the match was won by Woodhouse.
