Westend Lions won the RCD Huddersfield Junior League Under 14 Cup in a penalty shoot-out.

The final against Lepton Highlanders was tied 2-2 after extra-time, but Westend held their nerve to seal a 3-1 shoot-out success.

Adam Maywand opened the scoring for Lepton after 20 minutes, but Westend were soon level when Harry Scott scored a bizarre equaliser that ricocheted off several players before finishing in the back of the net.

Further goals from Alfie Smalley (Lepton) and Tai Armitage (Westend) left the score tied at 2-2 before Westend finally sealed victory.

Northowram completed a League and Cup double at Under 18 level, lifting the Cup in a 3-2 final triumph against LS27.

LS27’s Tyler Walton opened the scoring 10 minutes in and teammate Jordan Mullins completed the scoring with five minutes remaining.

But, in between times, Northowram scored three times to seal victory.

A fitting game for a final, which swung dramatically from end to end.

Jake Holder struck the equaliser for Northowram after 15 minutes and Will Parkin put Northowram in front before the break.

LS27 piled on the pressure in the second half and looked certain to equalise, but Parkin grabbed his second and Northowram’s third against the run of play.

Mullins pulled one back for LS27 but it was too little too late as Northowram held on to win.

In the Under 12 Cup final, White Rose All Stars were 5-0 winners against Wyke Wanderers.

Wyke were unable to find a response as goals from Sam Wilkinson, Tyler Winterbottom and a Rahul Ho-Shingh hat trick secured victory for White Rose.

White Rose can now concentrate of chasing the League title, which is still within their reach.
