Edie is married to Wesley Pegden and made her first appearance in Uncle of the Bride (1985) when her daughter Glenda married Barry. She failed her driving test several times and is probably one of the worst drivers around.
Always very houseproud, she does not allow Wesley into the house without putting old newspapers down on the floor - especially when he appears in his oily overalls.
Edie is very fond of putting on airs and graces and generally showing off in front of the neighbours, regularly inviting the other ladies round for coffee to keep up with the gossip.
