Married to Howard, Pearl made her first appearance in Catching Digby's Donkey (1984). She is well aware of her husband's "secret" liaisons with Marina and always manages to catch them out, however well they are hidden from view.

 Howard and Marina would have been amused to see the character portrayed by Pearl in the village gala episode Stop That Castle! (1992) - The Wicked Witch!
