Kathy gets cast in bronze

KATHY STAFF, stalwart of Last of the Summer Wine, has been immortalised in bronze.

A figure of her well-loved character, Nora Batty, has been created by artist Gordon Brown.

Kathy visited the Longdale Craft Centre in Nottingham to receive the first of the limited edition figures.

A percentage of sales from the other figures will go to her favourite charity, Dalton-based Kirkwood Hospice - especially the hospice's beds at Holme Valley Memorial Hospital.

Nora Batty is the second figure in Gordon's Last of the Summer Wine series.

Figures of Nora's admirer, Compo, have already gone on sale at the Longdale centre.
