A PUB made famous by BBC television's Last Of The Summer Wine comedy series has a new landlord and landlady.
Ron and Ruth Backhouse ran the White Horse at Jackson Bridge for 20 years.
Now they have retired - and new faces are taking charge after the White Horse was sold to a pub company.
They are former Barnsley man Terrence Joyner and his partner, Pam Ashby.
Millions of viewers have seen the pub on TV. It has featured in several episodes, and Mr Backhouse once made a cameo appearance.
Mr Joyner is well aware his new pub - popular with locals and day trippers alike - is famous.
But he decided to settle there simply because he loves the Holme Valley.
He said: "I know about the Summer Wine connection. But I chose this pub because I'm familiar with the area.
"Barnsley isn't so far away and I used to come to the nice pubs round Holmfirth when I was younger.
"I knew what the valley was like, although I'd never been to this particular pub before."
Mr Joyner, who has moved from Selby, used to be a civil engineer. But a serious accident meant he had to give up that work.
He said: "I didn't want to stop work altogether, so decided to get a pub. Also, the previous landlord had been here for over 20 years. It must be a good place to be! "
Mr Joyner plans to upgrade the decor and change menus, but says the well-known character will stay the same.
