TV and film website launched

PEOPLE are able to look on the internet to find out where films and TV programmes are being made in Yorkshire.

The new website also has details of old TV shows and films, maps, competitions and useful contacts.

The Holme and Colne valleys have long provided backdrops to the BBC's Last Of The Summer Wine comedy series.

But Slaithwaite and Marsden are now equally well-known as settings for ITV's Where The Heart Is.

Other filming in Huddersfield has included Wokenwell, a village drama shot in Marsden.

The York-based Yorkshire Tourist Board launched the new website at the same time as a leaflet containing the top 50 locations for filming in the county and profiles of famous Yorkshire actors and writers.

The website is at www.yorkshireonscreen.com
