A night of tears and cheers

STARS of the hit series Last of the Summer Wine were in Huddersfield for a fabulous awards ceremony last night.
Kathy Staff (left), who plays Nora Batty, and Peter Sallis (right), who plays Clegg, were in town to congratulate series writer Roy Clarke - given a special prize at the Examiner Community Awards.
And all were delighted to share in the plaudits for dozens of Huddersfield people, young and old, who received awards, some of them tearfully.
It was the third such event organised by the Examiner and Huddersfield Pride.
