Former Coronation Street stars Jean Alexander and Geoffrey Hughes will take lead roles.
Ken will play the lead role of Will and Claire King, who played the scheming Kim Tate in Emmerdale, is pencilled in as the love interest.
Dreamcatcher, which may change its name to Fist Full of Dreams, will be a family film, aged at anyone from eight to 80.
It would be shot in Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford and other locations in the region.
Ken, who was born in Yorkshire, has been a professional actor for 30 years.
"My dad was into Westerns when I was a kid," said Ken.
"I used to go to the pictures with him. It stayed with me and I have seen nearly every Western going," he added.
