Return of the wellies

COMPO'S wellies are back. And they are now in the foyer of the Old Bridge Hotel, Holmfirth, raising cash for charity.

Paul Smelt, Royston Rogers and Tom Owen

The wellies, which disappeared from their spot outside the Holme Valley Sports shop only to be found later in the nearby river, have been refurbished by Holmfirth Rotary Club's Mike Funnell.

They are used annually to collect donations and Rotary members hope £10,000 can be collected in a year.

Tom Owen, son of the late Bill Owen and now an actor in the series Last of the Summer Wine, is pictured with Rotary president elect Paul Smelt and Royston Rogers.
