Kathy, who plays Nora Batty, is supporting Yorkshire Cancer Research's Biggest Yorkshire Tea Break scheme.

Kathy, complete with Nora's trademark wrinkled tights, is pictured with Jane Dutton, vice-chairman of the charity in Huddersfield.

On Yorkshire Day - Friday, August 1 - the charity wants people to join them for a cup of tea. It has 20,000 teabags from Taylor's of Harrogate to give out, in return for donations of £1. All the cash will go towards research into cancer.

Sally Crerar, from the charity's head office, said: "Although the message behind our event is a serious one, we want everyone to enjoy a break for a few minutes on August 1."

To get your teabags and pledge your money ring Yorkshire Cancer Research on 01423 501269 or visit www.ycr.org.uk
