NORA BATTY'S wrinkled stockings could continue to fly outside her Holmfirth cottage for years to come.
A row over access for filming hit comedy series Last Of The Summer Wine has been settled - for now.
Talks between the BBC and business leaders in Holmfirth seem to have sorted out a dispute over compensation payments.
The show's producers said demands for compensation when film crews were in action had reached "ridiculous" levels and could mean them pulling out of Holmfirth.
In particular, there was a dispute with the owner of a cottage near the one used as Nora's home which could have meant no more filming at the location.
But the owner of the cottage famed for being home to Nora for more than 30 years said she was more than happy for film crews to continue using the famous steps and kitchen door.
Her solicitor, Mr Tim Gregory, said: "Filming has taken place at this property with the full consent and active encouragement of our client and their tenants for many, many years.
"There has never been a dispute in relation to filming at the cottage.
"The BBC personnel are welcomed back as an extended family whenever they appear by our client and tenants."
