Mr Gregory added: "Our clients are not to be held responsible for the actions of others.
"They wish to make it very clear there has never been dispute over filming at the cottage during its ownership by our clients, which is a considerable span of time - probably equal to the longevity to the series itself!
"We are aware of the problems caused by an adjacent property owner, but regrettably these are totally outside our clients' control."
Mrs Sonia Lee, who was a tenant of Nora Batty's cottage for 35 years until last month, said she was always happy to see the BBC crews
"They were like my favourite aunts and uncles coming to call," she said.
"The actors and the crew were really lovely and I loved having them in and out of the cottage".
A spokesman for the Holme Valley Business Association said talks with the BBC had gone well and everyone wanted Summer Wine to return to Holmfirth.
