ADVENTURE holiday firms plan to massively expand their programmes in 2008, with sector leader Explore adding Algeria, Bosnia and the Sudan to a portfolio offering 328 tours in more than 130 countries.
Explore’s new volunteer programme includes 14 tours across the globe, from Guatemala to Namibia and Cambodia to Argentina. They include anything from three to 13 days on specially identified projects to help the locals.
Tour highlights include a turtle conservation scheme in Ghana, an anti-poaching tour in Kenya and Tanzania, a home farm itinerary in Sri Lanka and community work in Southern India.
