Have a great holiday and see the Passion Play as well

THE world-famous Oberammergau Passion Play, involving 2,000 villagers and set against the backdrop of the Bavarian mountains, is a spectacle which comes along only once every 10 years.
So theatre fans will want to book early for the latest chance to catch a production first performed in 1634 in gratitude for the locals’ escape from bubonic plague.
It opens in May, 2010, with performances starting in mid-afternoon and running into the evening. They commemorate the last week in the life of Christ, his journey into Jerusalem, his death and Resurrection - and runs until October 3.
Saga, specialising in travel for the over-50s, took 10,000 to the play in 2000, and expects to take 15,000 this time.
Packages from £999 include five, seven and nine-night stays in Austria, Italy and Switzerland, and a 14-night fully escorted coach tour. Selected singles’ holidays are also available in the Saga programme.
