Barry Gibson: Job advert's 'key driver' is gobbledook

In my report I tried to give the reader a flavour of this assault on the English language by quoting seven or eight phrases which I thought were particularly outrageous.

But the fact is that the job description ran to seven pages. I simply didn’t have the space to include all the examples of jargon.

So I thought I would abuse my position as a columnist to make you aware of a few more.

Here’s this week’s offering: According to Kirklees, the successful applicant will have: "a proven track record of understanding the key drivers in a business environment and working in partnership with stakeholders to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction".

I think that’s something to do with money, but I’m not sure.

Answers on a postcard, please.
