Sleep easy, this is night attire I can do without

TONY of Meltham thought of me at Christmas.

In the card he sent, he included a cutting of a newspaper advertisement for nightshirts.

“I saw this and thought about your extremities suffering in this cold weather,” he wrote.

How kind.

As old readers may remember, I became a fan of nightshirts many years ago after my mother-in-law in America sent two pairs for our daughters.

Our daughters were not impressed so I wore them and found them surprisingly warm and comfortable.

Sadly, after many years they shrunk so much in the wash that they became indecent and I have had problems finding replacements.

Now Tony has thoughtfully come to the rescue.

The only thing is, now I have seen what they look like, I don’t think I’ll bother. I’ll stick to T-shirts and shorts and tracksuit bottoms.

I’m not yet ready to become Wee Willie Winkie, no matter how comfortable they are.
