Right spirit

TODAY we have the joy of carrying a report of a Christmas party held thanks to warm-hearted Examiner readers.

Children in Crosland Moor, one of our poorer neighbourhoods, were able to enjoy themselves as a result of our Christmas Wish appeal, run in association with Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table.

It is the first of many such stories we will publish this week about people who have been helped through the appeal.

Together they show that the festive season is a time for celebration but also for caring and sharing.

Once again, the response to the appeal has been marvellous.

It proves that Huddersfield is a great community for thinking of others – whether it is elderly people on their own, less fortunate families or people with nowhere to live.

We are grateful to everyone who was able to help. Long may the generosity continue.
