LABOUR politician Tony Benn’s retirement left the House of Commons a poorer place.
Whether we agree with his views or not, there was no questioning his absolute integrity, his intellectual rigour as a Parliamentary orator.
A chance to hear him in person is being given in Huddersfield when he comes to the university on April 14 to give a talk on religion and politics.
One thing he will say is that he believes the Ten Commandments are a better guide to the good life than a study every hour of the Dow Jones industrial average.
