Bring back the bottles

THE dairy industry is being urged by the Government to adapt containers for milk to make them more environmentally friendly.
They have got until 2020 to sort it out.
Why so long?
We used to have the perfect answer – it was called the milk bottle.
Sadly, they have disappeared with the relentless rise of supermarkets which have grabbed the lion’s share of milk sales and demanded containers that can be easily stacked.
Bring our old friend back and problem solved. Or is that too simple?
