THE Examiner wishes villagers in Kirkburton all the best in their bid to buy a community centre.
Around £160,000 is needed to buy the hall from the Salvation Army.
At a time when pubs and shops are closing in record numbers, it is a refreshing change to report on a campaign to create a place where people can meet and talk to each other.
They are swimming against the tide of decline where villages are rapidly declining into dormitories for nearby towns.
A new community centre in Kirkburton could become the hub at the centre of a fight back.
