Neighbour nuisances
Jul 11 2008 by Andrew Baldwin, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
THERE is nothing worse for neighbours than the constant noise of those next door.
The problem is so severe that noise action weeks have been launched in a bid to highlight the issue and persuade those who make others lives a misery to stop.
Evictions and confiscation of equipment are happening more often.
And quite right too. Those who abuse the rights of others by constantly ignoring pleas and warnings deserve everything coming to them.
Today we report on how Craig Jenkinson annoyed nearby residents by blasting out very loud music at his Dalton home.
He has already had his stereo equipment confiscated twice and will now have it taken away for a third time.
Some people are accused of being killjoys by protesting against noise, but the vast majority are tolerant and understanding of the odd late-night party to mark a special occasion.
Cases like the one we report today are another indicator of the lack of respect a significant minority has for the many.
