FULL marks to the Birstall firm which has had a hand in the launch of the website where rich football players can do their shopping.

As a piece of business enterprise, we wish them well.

But what a demonstration of how far removed the top of level of sport is from the ordinary person on the street.

Time was, not so long ago, when players lived next door to you and you bumped into them at the pub or at the shops.

The game seems to have lost its soul.
