FIRST, the credit crunch. Then rising fuel bills. And the revelation that the average household is spending £27 a week more on groceries than a year ago because of increased prices.
Can it get worse?
It just has – with constant rain putting most of us very firmly down in the dumps.
What a miserable summer.
Serious sorts will wonder if our bad weather is due to climate change. Others might reply: It’s Britain. What else do you expect?
