Cheer up it’s Abba!

EVERY so often a film comes around that captures the public imagination in a big way.

Summer blockbuster Mama Mia is that film of the moment.

Soaring music, a plot full of twists and turns and top performances from the all-star cast make it one of the most popular films in years.

Not only that, it has given a real boost to two of our smaller cinemas – the Picturedrome in Holmfirth and the Rex in Elland.

Both have extended the film’s run after turning away disappointed customers.

Mama Mia has proved to be a feel-good film for both audiences and the owners of cinemas.

Makes a welcome relief from all that miserable weather we are enduring.
