THERE have been so many campaigns, aimed at shocking or frightening errant drivers into avoiding alcohol when they get behind the wheel, that it becomes increasingly difficult to find a way to get the message home.
Most of us got the message, years ago. But, sadly, those who still think they can gamble on drinking and driving despite all the advice and warnings are the ones who are the hardest to get through to.
Excess alcohol is involved in one in four road deaths nationally, yet there remains a hard core of irresponsible people who continue to flout the law.
Survey findings reported in today’s Examiner show that it is young drivers who think they can get away with it.
