Voucher issue

IF ever there was an issue waiting to be tackled by an MP, it’s the millions of pounds worth of useless Christmas gift vouchers after Zavvi went into administration.

Long queues have formed in the chain’s music, games and DVD shops as harassed staff explain that they cannot redeem the vouchers.

As one customer put it, anyone can walk into Zavvi and buy with cash but they won’t let you buy with the money they’ve already been given.

It is, as he says, an absolute disgrace.

As things stand, the voucher market is dead. Who would take the risk of buying them in the present economic climate?
