Use your post offices

THE Government may have pledged an extra £1.3bn to protect local post offices, but has too much damage already been done?
Over the last few years more than 4,000 post offices have shut down countrywide often after people deserted them to have their benefits paid directly into their bank accounts.
But post offices are at the hub of community life and some have diversified brilliantly to make sure they stay in business.
And as more and more banks close their branches outside town centres, post offices could become more vital.
You may be able to get many services online and over the phone these days, but hard cash doesn’t come that way.
People often only realise what they have lost once it has gone.
Everyone has a responsibility to make sure they use their post offices or risk losing them.
For once gone, it’s doubtful they will ever come back.
