Tragedy of Charlie Mann’s death from meningitis

TODAY we have thrown the spotlight on an immensely courageous and public-spirited family.

Despite the terrible anguish of losing their 15-week-old baby son, Charlie, to meningitis, parents Katy and Chris Mann have vowed to do all they can to spare other families having to go through such a harrowing ordeal.

To think of others at such a traumatic time is truly inspirational.

They have embarked on a major fundraising and awareness campaign to raise money for meningitis research and to warn other parents about the risks.

Charlie’s tragic death has already touched the hearts of thousands of people around the world.

But his parents’ determination to help others will no doubt have touched the hearts of all Examiner readers.

Katy’s blog about her thoughts and memories – along with advice on meningitis – may well save other lives.

And if that happens, some good will have come out of something so terrible.
